This policy explains how donations, recurring gifts, receipts and refunds work at Sneha Karma Foundation, and which entity receives your gift. It forms part of our Terms of Use.
Who receives your gift
Gifts from the United States and from outside India are received by Sneha Karma Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 47-3774368). Gifts from within India are received by Sneha Karma Foundation, the India Section 8 company (CIN U85300AS2022NPL022501). For the India entity’s 80G status, please contact us; registration details are available on written request for a valid reason.
If you are outside India, please give through the US entity. If you are unsure which route applies, contact us before giving.
Payment methods and currencies
We accept card payments through Stripe, PayPal, and UPI and cards through Razorpay for India. We may also accept bank transfer, cheque, ACH, employer matching and CSR contributions where available. The available methods and currencies are shown at checkout and may vary by country. We do not store full card numbers; payment details are handled by our processors.
Tax receipts
US donors receive a receipt for 501(c)(3) purposes. Indian donors receive a receipt; for 80G status, please contact us before giving if a deduction matters. Please give us your full legal name, address and email so we can issue a valid receipt. Receipts are sent by email, usually within a few business days. Donations are gifts; we do not provide goods or services in exchange, except where we expressly say otherwise (for example, an event ticket). Contact [email protected] if a receipt is missing or needs correction.
Recurring gift authorisation
When you set up a recurring gift, you authorise us and our payment processor to charge the amount and frequency you select until you cancel. The processor stores a token or subscription identifier; we do not store your full card details. You will receive a confirmation and a receipt for each successful charge.
Changes and cancellation
You can change the amount, pause, or cancel a recurring gift at any time in the donor portal or by emailing [email protected]. Changes take effect from the next scheduled charge; we cannot reverse a charge that has already been processed, but you can request a refund under the section below. There is no cancellation fee. If a payment fails, the processor may retry it and we may contact you; we may pause the subscription after repeated failures.
Refunds
If you believe a gift was made in error, or you would like to request a refund, contact us within 30 days of the gift at [email protected] with your name, the approximate date and amount, and the reason. Where appropriate, we will refund the amount to the original payment method, less any non-recoverable processing fees charged by our payment provider. Refunds can take 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank. We may decline a refund where the gift has already been applied in a way that cannot be reversed, or where a refund would be unlawful.
Chargebacks and disputes
Please contact us before raising a chargeback with your bank or card issuer — most issues can be resolved faster directly. If a chargeback is raised, we may provide the relevant transaction information to the processor and may suspend recurring gifts while the dispute is investigated.
