Title of the Role
Website Designer

We’re looking for a creative and technically skilled Website Designer to own the full design lifecycle of our web presence. You’ll translate brand vision into polished digital experiences — from wireframe to live page — using WordPress and industry-standard design tools. You’ll work closely with marketing, content, and leadership to build a website that looks great, loads fast, and ranks well.

Volunteers Responsibilities

  1. Overall website design – Define and maintain the overall visual design language of the website, including layout, color palette, typography, and component library. Ensure brand consistency across all pages.
  2. Graphics and visual assets – Create original graphics, banners, icons, and imagery using tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Figma. Optimize all assets for web performance.
  3. WordPress page building – Build and maintain website pages using WordPress page builders (e.g. Elementor, Divi, or Gutenberg). Customize themes and templates without breaking functionality.
  4. Contact forms and lead capture – Configure and manage contact forms using plugins such as WPForms, Gravity Forms, or Contact Form 7. Set up notifications, integrations, and spam protection.
  5. SEO optimization – Ensure strong on-page SEO scores using tools like Yoast or Rank Math. Optimize meta tags, headings, image alt text, site speed, and mobile responsiveness in line with SEO best practices.
  6. Responsive design and QA – Test and ensure consistent, responsive experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. Perform cross-browser QA and address layout or performance issues.
  7. Plugin management – Evaluate, install, configure, and maintain WordPress plugins. Keep plugins and themes updated and monitor for conflicts or security issues.

Frequently Asked Questions

I am in-between jobs, not sure when I will get my next job but I have time now. should i apply to volunteer ?2017-12-24T17:02:25+00:00

Absolutely, Yes. More than 50% of our volunteers join us when they are in this situation but they then stay on as a volunteer even after they get a full-time job. We have all been in such situations and can completely understand that you might need to go back to focus on your new job for a few months before you come back to contribute as a part-time volunteer.
