SKF Program Update
Notes from the field: what is changing in the communities where we work.
Notes from the field
Program work looks different up close than it does in a plan. A school year starts late, a training batch needs a new machine, a family changes its mind. These updates record what actually happened in our education, livelihood and health work — and what the team decided to do next.
- New classrooms, equipment and learning materials.
- Training batches, artisan orders and livelihood support.
- Health camps, mentoring and family engagement.
- Delays, cost increases and plans that had to change.
What we publish
Updates are written as field notes rather than announcements. That means context, costs and the occasional setback, not only the finished result. Some months bring a new classroom or a completed training batch; others bring a delay, a cost increase or a lesson about a plan that did not work. Both kinds are useful to supporters, because they explain where the next rupee or dollar is going and why a change was made. Each note is dated and kept online, so the record can be read in sequence rather than as a one-off announcement.
Read them alongside our program pages, which describe the design, and our impact page, which brings the outcomes together. Together they give a realistic picture of how long change takes.
How to follow the work
