Lets Give them the Skills to Succeed in Life!

In Developing countries, just ‘Academic Education’ is not enough to earn a livelihood. In countries like India, which have a huge working population and a high un-employment rate, It is virtually impossible to gain employment purely based on academic degrees/certificates.

The girls in our support-a-program face the same challenges as anyone else. We need to make sure that we provide them additional ‘Skills Training’ to ensure that they are either able to find employment based on additional skills they have been trained on or become an entrepreneur ( click here for more about our social enterprise program)

The girls in our ‘Support-A-Girl’ program go through a career counselling sessions when they enter the 12th Grade. One of the outcomes of these career counselling is that we understand the areas of interest for these girls. Our career counselors then provide the guidance to these girls on how best they can get ‘Trained’ in their areas of interest and pursue it seriously as a path to ‘Professional development’.

Sneha Karma Foundation ensures that the Girls have the required financial support for them to enroll in these professional development skills development program. Some examples of ‘Skills Development’ programs include Fashion Designing, Handicraft, Weaving & Sewing, Computer Software Training, etc.
